In Bochum on Thursday, the German public prosecutor asked that Berlin's main suspect, Ante Sapina, be given a seven year jail sentence for his involvement in the infamous bribery scandal surrounding European football.

Sapina has admitted to have manipulated football matches by bribing players and referees. As a result, the German has earned more than 2.3 million euros through gambling.

The 'infected' matches were played in the Bundesliga and even involved international matches. His partner in crime, Marijo C., could face six years and nine months in jail, while Dragan M. could get up to six months.

The court is expected to rule on the sentencing this Thursday.
