Half a year before the start of the European Championship in Poland, the country is again encountering a new corruption scandal. On Friday, Minister for Sport, Joanna Mucha reported a possible bribery scandal to the country's prosecution service.

She had earlier received recordings, of which the content was "striking and should be taken seriously", she said at a news conference.

It is possible that the Football Association Chairman, Grzegorz Lato could be involved in the affair and members of the Polish Football Association urged him to resigned on Friday. On Monday, Lato announced that more clarity needed to be provided. "It's the third time I am reported to have been involved in corruption and nothing has ever been proven," said Lato.

In recent years, there have been many other corruption scandals involving the Polish Football Association.
