The new betting scandal in Italian football extends to the highest level. On Thursday, it was announced that the top players Francesco Totti and Christian Vieri (now stopped playing) were involved in the case.
Initially it seemed that the scandal was only played out in the lower reaches of Italian football. Small clubs like Atalanta Bergamo and Siena were named in the initial investigation. Meanwhile the names of more and bigger clubs have joined the rumor mill including the top clubs AS Roma, Inter Milan, Napoli and Lazio. |
